Today in CWI we're playing "catch up" because it's only our third time meeting. Our assigned blog this week is to pick 15 events that we think were huge from 2000-2009. We just went over rules the first part of class. Mr. Bruns has podcasts and powerpoints on the website, and also daily summarys of days we have class. There are three ways to get extra credit. We get 3 bonus points for every 50 message board posts we make. We can do a video or interview of current events (like someone who's fighting in the war), worth 15 points. We can also do a documentary, worth 25 points. We're taking a continent and ocean test, which should be the easiest test we take all year. We also take lots of oral tests. Instead of an oral test we could possibly make a podcast or a video. Podcasts must be done at school, and you must have proof you're not cheating when you do a video. Map tests are oral unless stated otherwise. We have to do write-to-learn, which is also like a pop quiz. (It's been awhile since I've taken a pop quiz!) In this class we have to do a semester test blog. The semester test blog is our semester test! The questions on the test are listed on the site. Semester test blog is worth 10% of our semester grade. Some classroom rules: be happy and have a positive additude. Be friendly. Be nice. Be responsible and do your part. Focus on learning. Be creative. Be honest. We got our groups today, and I'm with Kara and Ana! We research and do projects with these groups, the whole semester. My computer number for this year is #19. We're finally done with these days of learning the rules and basic info!
