Markis Garvey- He was a big part in the Harlem Ressiance .

Bloody Sunday- 525 black people got attacked by cops during a march and there was a lot of pictures, it was a non-violent march. Immediatly after MLK put together another march with 25,000 people and they made it perfectly.

Thurgood Marshall- He was born in baltimore in 1908, at a very young age he was taught to obey the law by his fatehr, he went to lincoln university, right before he graduated he married, his wife died of cancer in 1955, he was denied to go to howard law school, his first major case was suing Marilyn for not letting a black person in. Made surpreme court in 1967. Died in 1993.

Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters- It was formed by Abe Randall it was for black people working for a porter company. It made things better for people.

Tuskey Airman- First African American aviation group, they mainly flew during world war 2, when the army still had segregation in the army. They mainly flew bomber escort missions.

Malcom Little (Malcom X)- He was born in Omaha, he was out spoken black rights speaker, before he was 13 he had no parents, Malcom for the longest time tried to do good things like be a good lawyer, he turned to crime. He went to jail for a while. He was the head of the nation of Islam. He left the nation of Islam and started his own organization. After that he started talking about the same things but in his own way. The nation of Islam had him killed. He changed his name to X because he didn't want a slave name.

Linching- It was most popular in the south, it was when the hanged african american people for whatever reason, over 5,000 african americans were linched between 1890-1960. It was very common.

Black peoples roles in pearl harbor- Black people were usually studorist, and he was a cook an hopped on a gun.
