Rosa Parks- Sat in the front seat of the bus and was arrested because she wouldn't move for the white person.

Martin Luther King Jr.- Gave the speach I have a Dream. His dream was of blacks being equal to whites.

Jackie Robinson- The first athlete to letter in four sports in UCLA and went to the millitary and fought in the war.

Collen Pal(SP)- Was in the millitary and became a general and then was George W. Bush's secretary of state. He was the first african american secretary of state.

Thurgood Marshall- Was a layer growing up. He applied at the University of Maryland but was denied because he was black. Won his major court in 1933. Later on he sued Maryland because they denied him. Then we was anominated for supreme court in about 1967. He was the first black supreme court justice.

NAACP- It allowed colored people that were discriminated feel like they had rights. The person that started it was something storey. Gin vs. the United States was the most popular case that they won. It is still around today.

Matthew Hudson- Started exploring the world and went on a lot of expeditions. On his eighth trip they reached the North Pole. Matthew was the guy that put our American flag down on the North Pole.

Harriet Tubman- Was most well known for the underground railroad. She led 19 trips to the south and rescued over 900 slaves.
