Today was blog discussion day. Matt went first. Isaac’s blog topic was on the Prius brakes and how they don’t work. Toyota is recalling hundreds of vehicles with this problem. Kara’s topic was the people in Idaho who took children from Haiti to the Dominican Republic to put them up for adoption. Most of these kids had parents that were still alive. These people are being charged for kidnapping and such. Makayla did snow makeup days for our school. Possibilities are extending the school day to make it 7:55-3:45 or go into June. Morganne did her topic on the choking game. Teenagers are playing it. People put their hands around their neck and let go right before they hang themselves. Some kids are dying and getting brain damage. It makes you pass out. Courtney did her topic on a guy who’s in the government in Canada and is coming here to have surgery. Ana did her blog on swat teams being sent out for no reasons. They’ve killed people and animals for no reasons many times. I did my blog on how the unemployment rate dropped from 10% to 9.7% in January. Trey did his blog topic on a lady that tried to rob two Memphis banks and failed at both. Shannon’s topic was the death of the last tribe member of an ancient tribe. She was the last one that could speak the language. We went over a bit of the Canada map. We also add some islands into our test. There's a lot more islands in Canada than I was expecting! Our Canada test will be in about a week and a half. Tomorrow we have a blog assignment to do in class. We have to take a test to find out which party we're close with (Democrat/Republican). We will paste our results in our blog. Then we will just blog about our results and what we think. Wednesday & Thursday we will take a test on the Afghan topics. We will need to know the definitions of these topics. We checked out some news topics. Michael Jackson's doctor has been charged with his death. The U.S. internet is too slow (duh!).
