Today, we started out class by discussing how the debate is going to work tomorrow. Mr. Bruns decided that instead of doing our blog discussion today we would have another work day. So we worked on researching the topics for the debate tomorrow. Democrats believe that since the prices of everything are rising it would only be fair that the minimum wage goes up too for workers. If minimum wage goes up then low wage workers will be able to afford their necessities. If the people have more money to buy good and services the price of the goods and services could possibly go down. There is a new health care bill that Obama is trying to pass that will cover about 31 million American citizens. Obama hopes that the new health care will increase Medicare prescription coverage help people buy their health insurance. The plan will also make sure that the government can control the high priced insurance companies and demand that they lower their rates. This will satisfy customers and make them capable of buying their own prescriptions. Democrats believe that the people shouldn’t have to choose between buying their own medicine or their next meal. The company rates are too high and need to be controlled.
