In class today we continued our video. Dorthey Mae was shot at point blank range. The two men who killed her said they were paid by a rancher who was put in jail but was freed by bail. That is crazy. The two men just left her there to die. Dorthey was a nun from utah who tried to stop the trees getting cut down. The next place Jeff and Anderson went to was a tribe and they were welcome right into the tribe. They went to a meeting of the tribe and learned they are fighting for their land. That is really interesting. I learned that the amazon basin holds a lot of our water supply. They will hike for hours to make sure no one is cutting down trees on their land. They are armed with bow and arrows. That is amazing. The next topic they hit was a six year boy who was diognosed with cancer. The next day he started kemo. That is really sad the mother looked for answers. She kept coming back to their neighborhood. Their nighborhood sits by the Houston shipping company. It makes their neighborhood. Scienctist say that any child that lives 2 miles from and closer have a 56% high chance of getting lucima(sorry about the spelling). That is really sad. the little boy want to do so many things when he grows up. I really hope that he will be able to do them. One man said that it is not right to chemically alter the air with out the surrounding areas consent it is not right. The govenor of texas said that. I so agree with him. It isnt right and someone should stop it because more kids are going to get this. The little boy is ten years old and in remission and aparently doing really good. He gets to play with his sister again. The way the polar bears are acting are alrady changing. That is kinda scary. The issues around the world are real and people need to stop it. Animals are becoming estinct 1000 times the natural rate. That is really scarey. It makes me wanna cry.Next we had blog disscusion on our Rwanda blogs. I wish the movie was longer it was really good i thought i probably would have cried if it was longer. Belguim thought the Tutsis were veiwed as more powerful than the hutu. I learned we were one of the last places to get rid of slavery. I thought we would be a first but i guess i was wrong on that issue.
