Today I was sick, so I looked off someone else's blog to get the information we talked about in class.Today we went into WWI. WWI started with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand by Gavrillo Princip, a young man who was a member of the black hand. His death was all a part of a conspiracy. After the assassination Austria-Hungary send an ultimatum to Serbia, and Serbia refused to accept the ultimatum. After this Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia. WWI was a war for land. The French had dug trenches. most of the fighting took place in Northern France. It was a war with many many casualties. At the time, Adolf Hitler had just moved to Germany and decided to join the German Army. Within the military he found his place after failing out of art school. The three types of trenches were front line trenches, support trenches, and reserve trenches. The idea of trenches was good defensive strategies. There was very little land won of loss after they fought the Germans. The land between the trenches was called “no-man’s land” because of all the deaths that took place in-between the trenches.I want to thank ERIN!!
