17. Slavery, election of Lincoln, Cotton Gin. South wanted slaves and North did not. Popular Sovernty. North was more industrial south relied on farms and agriculture industry.
18. North advantages: Population, Supplies, more industrial, and a strong president.
South advantages: fighting on own land, very used to their own climate.
19. Reconstruction was the rebuilding of America after the civil war. Positive: New amendments giving slaves freedom and some rights/ protection. Freedmans Bureau setup in south to help africans get jobs and education and go on with life. Negative: KKK, north leaves the south and racism fuels up again proving the reconstruction a complete failure.
