We started class by going over a section of the Europe map. Then, we moved on to Makayla's project

endangered species and polar bears

b/c of global warming the ice is breaking and is hurting the polar bears' habitat

polar bear is one of the top predators on the food chain.

they eat fish, seals, birds,

coral reefs and coral bleaching:

reefs cover .2%of the ocean

11% has been damaged

60% has been threatened by human activities

great barrier reef

largest

more than 2000km

33% is no take area- not taking any of the coral home

still at risk from increasing water temps as a result of global warming

bleaching of coral reefs is when the coral turns white

global warimg and coral bleaching has happened twice

5% is dead and 55% is bleached

carbon dioxide in the ocean

global warming is also likely to increase

After that, we finished up our blog discussion from last week

We left off with the nuclear power debate thingy

Morganne's was from 1970 to present (excluding obama's)

1974- thresh hold treaty. can't use over 1400 lbs of tnt

important to military, reduced size of test bombs

1987- nuclear forces program, banned all short and long aged missels

1991- limited amount of materials that would be allowed to on transportation

Kara's was about a court justice who is resigning this year. 35 years in his spot

appointed by gerald ford

Makayla's was about how obama couldn't get to poland to mark the 60th anniversary of the killing of millions of polish citizens.

Brittany's was about a skin-put thing that you wear on your arm and it sends a vibration and opens your emails on your hands
