Well this weeks assigned blog is we have to read the first 16 pages of the article attached to the blog feed, and we have to summarize the main points and write our reactions. The article is on why this senator thinks that Global Warming is a bunch of bull. then we started the presentations again, finishing Isaac and Matt's presentatnion on climat change. We didn't sign the Kyoto protocol because with the amount of money we lose compared to the natural benefits wouldn't be worth it. Some things we could do to help prevent this are things like using alternative energy sources like wind, solar, and hydro electricity and things like that. the IPCC is something that the un puts out every 4 years and they say that we (humans) are the main cause of Climate change. You can also use flourecent bulbs and driving hybrids help the economy and the world. the government is setting up policies, developing alternatives to non renewable resources, and bettering observation systems so we can see what we are actually doing to the world. Mostly its just working on the alternative fuel problems. They also made a clean air act and established the us global change research program. fossil fuels are the non renewable resources that take about a billion years to replenish itself. Advantages of fossil fuels are that they create a lot of electricity and they are easily obtained and delivered/ found around the world. Fossil fuels are a big cause of global warming and it causes water pollution. Also there are facts that some of the money that we pay for oil to the middle east funds terrorists. pollution is the release of harmful toxins that damage the ecosystem and most of it comes from humans. You can stop pollution by not littering and using alternative fuels and doing natural farming, and also walking when you can instead of driving everywhere. Alternative energy is energy sources that reduce water and air pollution.
