Today in class we first talked about the big semester blog. Then we assigned this week’s blog and I’m doing the 1960 election. There were a lot of people that were weren’t ready completely or whole groups so we madedue.

US Homefront
The US Homefront was what people in the United States were doing back home to help win the war. People agreed that taxes needed to be raised to pay for the war. Almost everyone was now paying Federal Income tax.The government controlled prices and wages so they couldn’t be too high or lowso they keep the businesses open but be fair to the workers. Unemployment ratewent down because women could work in the factories. The women took over thejobs of the men who had to go to war. Farmers moved into cities for jobs sincethe Great Depression was still lingering.
