  • held in a resort town called yalta on february 4th-11th in 1945
  • big three met to decide what would happen to post-war europe.
  • franklin roosevelt represented the united states
  • winston churchill represented germany
  • josef stalin represented the soviet union
  • the goal of the conference was to talk about what would happen with..
  • -the dividing up of germany
  • -the formation of the united nations
  • -german war reparations
  • -the entry of soviet forces into japan
  • -the future of poland

potsdam conference.

  • held at at cecilienhof (home of crown prince wilhelm hohenzollern) in potsdam
  • happened from july 17th- august 2nd in 1945
  • soviet union, united kingdom, and the united states participated in it.
  • the communist party general secretary, joseph stalin, prime ministers winston churchill and clement attlee. and president harry s. truman
  • changes between the leaders since the yalta conference were
    1. the soviet union was central and eastern europe.
    2. britan had a new prime minister
    3. america had a new prime minister and the war was ending.
    4. the us tested an atomic bomb
