Today Mr. Bruns is going over his powerpoint. There was very tough fighting in Italy because the Italians had control of the Appenine Mountains. They could hide from the Allied Forces and it was also easier to shoot downward instead of upward. Hitler's wife (Eva Braun) committed suicide and the same day that he did. In the summer of 1941 Japan invaded French Indochina. On December 7, 1941 the Japanese didn't only bomb Pearl Harbor they also attacked a lot of island like the Phillipines. The Navajo Code Talkers were very effective at keeping secrets because their language was not written down at that time. The Battle of Coral Sea was a major turning point in the war pretty much because it was the first battle that the Japanese did not win. The Battle was a lot bigger turning point. We knew the attack was coming because we decoded a message. After this battle Japan was never the same.
