Today we had a blog discussion day. We had to watch a World War II movie. The Velikrie was a movie. It was a document that if Hitler was ever killed than the government would have control after 24 hours. People were planning to kill Hitler and wanted to have the document changed to 3 hours after Hitler dies. The people went to a meeting and one of the men had a bomb in his briefcase. The briefcase fell over, so some guy moved it. It was this guy moving the briefcase that saved Hitler. The people wanted to kill Hitler wanted to do this because they thought that Hitler was ruining Germany. The movie was based on the last known assasination attempt on Hitler.
The Pianist was about a a piano player from Warsaw, Poland. He would always play on the radio so he had some German fans. A German police officer told the piano player about the danger and told him to hide. The German officer would bring him food so that he could survive. If he wasn't somewhat famous he probably would have died in a concentration camp. Being a pianist helped him to survive.
The Great Raid was about a POW camp in the Phillipines. The Japanese that were controlling the POW camp told the American people that they had no medicine, but they did in a small building. The POW's broke into the building and found the medicine. The raided the Japanese along with Phillipino's, only one of the American people died during the Great Raid.
