Marcus Garvy raised black pride during the twenties. He was one of the first outspoken African American to raise black awareness.
Thurgood Marshal- lawyer which was rare because he was black. He helped make some constitution in some African countries. He was nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court.
malcom x- born in Omaha. Black rights speaker. Both parents we gone by the time he was thirteen. He was told by whites that he couldn’t be good. He was also assassinated by Islam nation.
lynching- it was when white people would hang blacks by a rope and noose. This took off after civil war because south lost their slaves.
the stewardess of pearl harbor- the black people couldn’t serve. They could only do the little things and not shoot any guns.
Booker t Washington- he was born a slave. His mom was a servant to a tobacco plantation home. His job was to do small jobs on the farm. But mostly he carried books for the plantation owner’s daughter. He was then taken up by a nice lady in town. He then became acivil rights activist.
Stockly Stanford Church-Chill Carmicheal- he essentially was another black activist during the 50’s. first leader of the student novelist coordinating committee. Then came the honorary black ministerof the Black Panther party..
