Missing Girl Found in Landfill

http://us.cnn.com/video/?/video/crime/2009/10/22/sot.girl.dead.mother.wjxtThe Thompson family from Orange Park, Florida is facing some really hard times. Dienna Thompson's daughter was found in a landfill in Florida on Friday. Somer, her daughter, was reported missing on Monday after school when she got seperated from her siblings. Her sister said that Somer was in a fight earlier at school and was upset about it. Somer ran ahead of her siblings on the way home from school until she was out of their sight. They didn't think anything of it; they just thought she would beat them home. But, when Somer ran into a group of her classmates, she was never seen again. This would be such a frightening feeling. I don't know what I would do if I was Somer's sister. I would feel so guilty even though she couldn't do anything about it.Dienna Thompson has had the hardest time deeling with it. If I were her, looking from a mom's stand point, I would think, 'Why in the world would you want to take an innocent, sweet girl away from her family like that?' And I'm sure that has gone through her head a million and one times. Somer was a seven year old girl that loved life. She had her ups and downs like everyone, and they think if the fight wouldn't of happened on Monday, she maybe would've stayed with her siblings and she wouldn't of gotten kidnapped. But, no one knows the answer to that. It is all said and done, and the Thompson family is missing one of their loved ones. What a sad story. They found the body in the landfill and determined it was Somer Thompson's body by using dental records. The police that had to call Dienna about Somer said that it was the hardest phone call she has ever had to make and she hopes she doesn't have to make anymore like it. Dienna was in shock and didn't know what to do. Of course, media found her and had many interviews already. One quote she said on Friday was, "I want you to know that I will not sleep until this person is found. I hope they get you, and I hope they make you pay for a long, long time. You don't take from somebody. You didn't just take her from me. You took her from my family; you took her from all these people. And you don't do this to a little baby and put my baby in the trash like she's nothing. That's not OK, this is not OK." These are strong words not only from her but for the people watching this and especially the kidnapper. He needs to be found before it happens again to another innocent child.Dienna doesn't want anyone else to feel as empty as her because of the kidnapper. They have no evidence or suspects, but are continuing to search. She is determined to find them and make him feel what she is feeling. One of the questions that was brought up during one the interviews was if maybe the kidnapper was someone Somer has seen in the neighborhood and went with since she was an outgoing girl. Dienna doesn't think that was the case and they probably told her that they would take her to her. But, no one knows unfortunately. This is so sad that people are cruel enough to do that. I would never in my life be able to take away someone's daughter like that!!
