Most people attack us because of jealousy.
We have troops all over the world for our protection and to keep peace. Islamics think were trying to take over the world
1992 Bush sent 28,000 American troops to Somalia to make sure food got through.
Black Hawk Down: 18 americans died when their helicopter was shot down over Somalia
1993 was the first world trade center bombing which failed only killing 6 people and not taking the buildings down
1996 Sudan expels Bin Laden and he returns to Afghanistan
Afghanistan was run by the Taliban led by Mullah Omar

Clinton decided to attack Al-Queda in response with missile strikes
USS cole attack 2000 loaded ship with bombs and went to an american coal ship and blew it up
Bush Doctrine- US had the right to secure itself against countries that harbor or give aid to terrorist groups(afghanistan)

Iraq war: Set up monarchy in 1921. Gained independence from Britian in 1932. Monarchy was overthrown and Republic of Iraq was created. Iraq was controlled by the Ba'ath party from 1968 to 2003. America invaded in 2003 and Ba'ath party was removed from power. Millitary and gas attacks against Kurds started civil war. Iraq had a new constitution and government was elected. In 2011 US troops finally left the country. Then troops were sent back in 2014 to help against ISIS. US supported Saddam Hussein in Iran-Iraq war
Persian Gulf War: Operation desert storm . Started when Iraq invaded Kuwait
Consequences on Iraq: Economic sanctions remained. Weapons inspectors. No fly zone. US and UK claimed Iraq had weapons and were a threat to our security. UN found no evidence of WMD but suspected Hussein was looking for them
Issues in Iraq: Violence against coalition forces. Civil war and sectarian violence.Emergence of ISIS
