Monday- Forum post leaders talked about their stories. Went over another map. Talked about the project and started working on it. My groups has amendments-23-27.
Tuesday- Work on our projects.
Wednesday- Talk about spread the word to end the word. Worked on projects.
Thursday- Started presentations. Went over a map.

Current Events-
- Nebraska has allowed gay marriage now 12 states that don't
- U.S ambassador was slashed.. Attacked in South Korea.
- President Obama signed a bill funding homeland security
- American Youth and ISIS. FBI and DHS warning the security about young and ISIS. Boys- older: to attack and girls-younger: to be brides. Tracking lots of cases.
- Lost city found in jungle found in Honduras. Man made structures below the rain forest. No name for it thought, believe there was an entire civilization with many cities.
Other Notes-
Project- Discuss what the amendment did, when it was passed, why it was important at the time and why the amendment is still important today. Have numerous visuals and one political cartoon per amendment. Give a current event (last 25 years) of how your amendment still applies today (will not be possible to all). Role play each amendment.
Presentation notes:
1st amendment: Protects freedom of speech, religion, petition the government, press, and to assemble peacefully. Ratified Sept 25, 1789. Adopted Dec 15, 1791. Protects who we are and gives up out choices and beliefs. Controversy; Washington Redskins, the names was considered bad and they lost their trademark on it.
2nd amendment: Protects ourselves by being able to keep and use guns in self defense and war. Ratified Sept 25, 1789. Adopted on Dec 15,1791. To keep our country and its people safe from threats to out everyday life-also useful for hunting. Recent controversy is the executive orders for President Obama. After Sandy Hook Obama used his executive order to put almost 25 restrictions on the second amendments. Orders mainly include more in depth background searches and increasing the difficulty to purchase and use forearms.
3rd amendment: No soldier can barge into someones house without their consent. Ratified Sept 25, 1789. Adopted Dec 15, 1791. To show respect to other countries and their peoples belongings.
4th amendment: Protects up from having things searched and taken from us without good reason. Ratified Sept 25, 1789. Adopted 15,1791. To keep every U.S. citizen their dignity and privacy from the police and other higher authorities. Most recent the list was updated to include cell phones as an item that cannot be searched without warrant.
