  • Mussolini talked a big game but never executed
    • Germany always had to help out Italy
  • Battle of Taranto
    • British had surprise attack on Italy and destroyed their sea fleet

    • Stalin wanted to take over
    • Germany still tried to help Italy
    • Churchill "soft underbelly of the Axis"

    • Italy nearly came a communists country
    • Marshall Plan- to rebuild their country and not convert

    • Italy lost its Ethiopia colony in Africa at the 1896 Battle of Adua
