Treaty of Versailles: Treaty between Germany and the Allied powers that ended WWI.

The Big Four: Italy, United States, Great Britain, and France.

Italy: Vittorio Orlando- not so much important

United States:Woodrow Wilson- easiest on Germany with the fourteen points

Great Britain: David Lloyd George- wanted to go semi-harsh on Germany

France:Georges Clemenceau- wanted to go suuuuper harsh on Germany

How was Germany affected by this Treaty?

Germany suffered from territorial loss... they lost their colonies over sea in Africa. France and Great Britain got the african colonies. 16.7% of Germany's farmland, 12.5% of Germany's livestock, and 10% of its factories. Germany's size was reduced by 12.5%.

Military Consequences... their army was reduced to about 100,000 men. They were no longer to have submarines. And no more airforce. Or airforce.. no more airforce. Rhine River.. moves along the Germany France border. France called for Germany to be split into fourzones, and for an independent country made in the Rhineland. They demilitarized the Rhineland area. After WWII Germany was actually split into four zones. Even though Germany was not allowed over 100,000 men in the military they used the reserve system and basically trained everybody.

Wargill Clause- Clause 231 of the Treaty of Versailles: Germany had to admit to starting the war.

World War I Review: To Germany this was a slap in the face because the war started in southern-europe when Archduke Franz Ferdinand so Austria declared war on Serbia then there were all the alliances and it was just a big mess and before you know it all of europe is in war and because of all the colonies around the world it was easily and suddenly turned into a World War.

Economic Concequences... Germany paid 33 billion dollars total to Great Britain and France. Finland was the only country that paid the US for WWI.
