Germany

1. How did the Treaty of Versailles impact them?

The treaty put full blame on Germany and said that they strarted the war and it would make them pay war reperatioins to other countries. They had to reduce the size of their navy and lost a lost of farms and factory production. They also lost alot of land.


2. What type(s) of government did this country have in the interwar years(1919-1938)?

They had little stablility in government. People had hope in Nazi party. When HItler came to power they formed the Nazi party and Hitler took over all the stated governments. Hitler created Der Fuhrer.


3. How did their leader, that led them throughout WWII, come to power?

Hitler came to power legally. He came to power when Von Hinderburg died Hitler became chancellor. He had great support of the people in the Nazi group and blamed the jews for loss in the war.


4. How did this leader change their country(for the better and worse) prior to WWII?

Hitler did some positive things for Germany because he did what he said. He built a stronger military to protect Germany. He got the economy going again.


5. What were the goals of the leader?

He wanted to eliminate all the jews for he felt that they were the anti-race and he wanted to gain back the land that they lost in World War 1. During the interwar period aircraft and tank technologes matured therefore helping Germany in their Blitskrieg style of warfare. He wanted to make everyone blonde hair and blue eyed. He wanted to make the military strong and get back all land lost after WW2. He believed that any German speaking citizen should live in Germany. He wanted to create living space for the Russian people.


6. What was the military strategy of this country in the inter-war years(1919-1938)?

Improve use of new weapons Blitzkkrieg, not fighting in the trenches. They brought in airplanes and no countries expected it so they were al getting overrun by Germany's Blitzkrieg style. They swept through all of the countries right after another.


7. What role did they play in WWII?

The aggressor. Without Germany there would not have been war in Europe and the war would have been won more easily and much smaller. They were overrunning countries left and right and their Blitzkrieg style was unstoppable. They were the big target for other countries.


8. Who were their allies in WWII?

Italy, Japan, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania.


9. How did WWII impact/effect the country?

Germany was divided into four zones. And eventually kinda fell apart. They became East and West Germany. The Nazi Party fell apart. Hitler escaped execution and trial by committing suicide.
