Monday-

Amendment 23:

  • People that live in Washington can vote
  • Ratified March 29, 1961

Amendment 24:

  • The right that citizens can vote in any primary or any other affection for president or............. didn't get the rest
  • Ratified January 23, 1964
  • Poll tax pulled people away from voting
  • Effected everyone to vote freely and pushed our country into a new era
  • Current event: voter ID at the poll makes sure that everyone is who they say they are, others oppose saying it would create issues for that disabled and elderly.

Amendment 25:

  • If the president dies in office, the vice president will assume the presidency position
  • Ratified February 10, 1967
  • Current event: Richard Nixon resigned and so the Vice president will take over

Amendment 26:

  • At age 18 boys were being drafted to war, but they weren't able to vote
  • Ratified March 23, 1971
  • Maryland town is trying to push the age to 16 to be able to vote

Amendment 19:

  • Congress can't raise their pay until next election
  • Proposed 1789 and Passed 1992
  • Current event: Congress disagreed on fiscal 2014 budget. they shut the government down.
