Today we are doing our presentations for WWII. It's kinda funny watching people do the pit the stash on the Hitler. Zack Osborn is the closest so far.

CHINA

1. How did the Treaty of Versailles impact them?

-They did not get any land that was promised to them from the Treaty; china did not get any land that they assisted in the taking of
2. What type(s) of government did this country have in the interwar years(1919-1938)?

-Nationalist and part communist mix; Nationalist or also known as Kuomintang leader wa s Sun Yat-sen; communist was Mao Zedong; Natinalist leader Chiang Kai Shek
3. How did their leader, that led them throughout WWII, come to power?

- Chiang Kai shed took over after the death of Sun Yatsenn in 1925

- Mao Zedong wasthe first leader in communist China.
4. How did this leader change their country(for the better and worse) prior to WWII?

-Wanted to defeat communism before attackng Japan prior to WWII.

-the Xi' an accident caused communists and nationalists together to fight Japan

-Zedong wasnted 70% self development. 20% to work, and 10% to fight Japan
5. What were the goals of the leader?

- Attempted to eradicate the chinese communist party

- CCP was the ruling political party of the rpublic of China

- Wanted to become allies with the communist people in China.
6. What was the military strategy of this country in the inter-war years(1919-1938)?

- When Japan invaded china, it caused the second Sino Japanese War

-Merged into the pacific theatre in WWII

-china was competely unprepared for war

-china wanted to secure as many natural resources and other economic resources as possible

- Japan then surrendered in 1945.

-Resistance Strategy;

-chiang sent the best troops to defend their best cities

-adopt the strategy of trading space for time

-prolong the war as long as possible to exhaust Japanese soldiers

-china launched a major attack on itself to destroy a major coal mine, and a major railroad system so Japan could not get supplies to their troops.
7. What role did they play in WWII?

- China was an ally of the United States

-they were also a major part in the pacific war against Japan.
8. Who were their allies in WWII?
- Englan, US, Soviet Unionn, France, Great Britain, Australia, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Greece, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, and Yugoslavia.

9. How did WWII impact/effect the country?

-Many people died from disease, starvation, Massacres, bombing, and deliberate genocide.

- Many deaths during WWII were chinese and Soviet

-An estimated 7.5 million people in china died from other causes.
