o Family moved to Germany when he was three

o After his brother’s death, Hitler changed and became moodier and withdrawn
o Had more issues at school and with his dad
o His dad died in 1903 and his mom died in 1907
o All three of these deaths had a massive impact on the young Hitler
o In Mein Kampf, Hitler said he first became anti-Semitic during his time in Vienna, Austria

o Failed his examination to get into the Austria-Hungarian army in 1914

o Hitler quickly realized that his group discussed topics that he believed in
o Hitler dropped out of the military and joined the Nazi Party and quickly rose to become the leader

o In prison sentenced for 5 years, good behavior got him out after 9 months
