One of the lesser viewed stories over the summer is Billy Mays' death. Mays passed on the same date as /pMichael Jackson, and, surprisingly enough, at the same age of 50 years. Mays was on an airplane the day before, and when the plane landed the front tire blew out. Something fell and hit Mays on the head, but he wasn't hurt. He was pronounced dead at 7.45 Sunday morning. I really liked this guy and his shouting t.v. commercials. He will be missed.
On Saturday, August 8th, a small plane carrying three people and a small child collided over the Hudson with a sightseeing helicopter carrying 5 passengers. The helicopter dropped right into the water, but one of the plane wings was severed and the plane itself crashed near West 14th Street. Eight of the nine victims were found. It's really sad how this happened. Especially with a small child being involved.
