Civil War- 1861-1865 Confederacy and Union fighting each other. killed six hundred twenty five thousand people, would end slavery, kept america together. Robert E. Lee, Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis important people. Battle of Fort Sumter, Battle of Gettysburg, Underground Railroad, and Emancipation Proclamation 1862

African American Rights- Republican party suffrage effort, Civil Rights Act 1875, 15th amendment 1870.

Inventions- The Quadruples Telegraph 1874, First Version of copy machine 1876, the Phonograph 1877, the Carbon Transmitter 1877.

War of 1812- June , 1812 - February, 20.000 total casualties. no definite winner, 2nd war of independence, James Madison President, Henry Dearborn is army general, British troop burned White House, Two centuries pf peace, boost of manufacturing capabilities.

Native people crossing the Bering strait- 12,000 BC end of the last ice age glaciers froze-sea levels drop 300 ft across the world, first known people to enter north america began the development of america.

James town settlement- the first successful European settlement in the new world, john Rolfe a colonist, This had a huge impact on the US because without it we would never have formed as a country, was the beginning to a very long feud.
