^ Monica Lewinsky ^Alrighty, so prior to Miss Monica Lewinsky's affair-dealy with the President, she was a baby. And as a baby she lived in California. Her heritage is Russian-Jewish. Hence her Lewinsky name. Fast forward a little bit, Miss Lewinsky has gone to school in Bel Air. Contrary to popular belief, more people lived there than just the Fresh Prince. Eh hem. After high school Monica attended college in Oregon and majored in Psychology. She then interned in Washington DC over the summer of '95. I'm not really sure how being a psychology major qualifies you for a position in the White House, but I guess that's because I like to think logically.During her internship, I'm sure we all know what went down. So I won't really go into that. But about how it all got out into the open... Okay so in 1996 her superiors moved her to the Pentagon because they thought she was spending too much time with Clinton. Creepy I know. So while she has at the Pentagon she told Linda Tripp of her wild escapades.
^ Linda Tripp ^Linda Tripp... She wasn't exactly well liked and had been moved from the White House into the Pentagon prior to the scandal. Personally I think she was a little angry about this, and was kind of looking for some sweet vengeance. Heck hath no fury like a woman's scorn. So Monica started calling Linda, thinking they were friends and all. But Linda secretly recorded them! She was no friend! She was an enemy! A frienemy! :O And when she heard about a dress Monica had with a particularly icky stain, she convinced her not to wear it. By the way... I found out that dress worth about thirty dollars when she bought it is now valued at about five hundred thousand smack-a-roons. Anyway!In 1998 Bill Clinton was being legally investigated for the Whitewater Scandal. Apparently it was some real estate deal that had gone sour with some partners... and well there was just a lot of investigating. Some way or another the whole affair came up. Monica signed an affidavit saying she had not done anything icky with Clinton. She tried convincing Tripp to lie about what happened... but being all vengeful and what not she handed over those tapes and the infamous blue dress and well... things got a little messy.
^ Bill Clinton ^So Bill Clinton goes on TV on January 26, 1998 claimed "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky". Apparently he was under oath and it was apparently was also a lie. That's bad news bears in legal land. Clinton and Lewinsky were tried for perjury and obstruction of justice.So this is the part of my blog were the details get a little fuzzy. Frankly I'm not an expert on political science and/or law and I don't pretend to be. But Clinton was tried, found guilty I guess, but then pardoned in the Senate. And he was impeached. Kind of. But not really. Again, I'm not an expert, and I really don't understand. Confuzzling...So yes, politics is icky. Icky things happen. And with today's media, EVERYONE finds out. Frienemies are bad, and to quote Monica's last words on the matter "I hate Linda Tripp." Can't say I really blame her. Lol.
