This Saturday, protesters of health care reform marched on the White House. It was a peaceful movement; protesters merely protested, no one carried weapons and they all went home after the "tax-payers' march". Tens of thousands of people participated, many of which carrying signs and chanting protests.Signs used slogans such as "Obamacare makes me sick", "I'm not your ATM" , "Go Green - Recycle Congress", "Obama Bin Lyin", and some had pictures featuring the Obama-Joker cartoon. People chanted things like "We the People", They yelled out at the White House, "Enough!", "You lie!", and "Pelosi has to go!" (referring to Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker from California).Citizens from all over the nation came to this rally, clogging the streets of D.C. Several public speakers were there, talking about how Obama's health care reform plan was all messed up. Almost everyone there felt strongly that health care reform was needed, but Obama's plan would lead them to ruin. Others felt that the government was spending too much money on everything; if we're already in debt, why are we still spending?I thought the whole thing was blown own of proportion by those involved in it. Although it has definitely caught the president's attention, I doubt it will make much of a difference in his plans. But, I guess we'll find out in a couple of years, won't we?http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?rn=3906861&cl=15529849&ch=4226716&src=newsThis link will take you to a few videos about the march. The first one it shows is the one I wanted to embed here, but I couldn't figure out where the link was, so I did this instead. (sorry, but you'll have to copy and paste the address if you want to see it...I couldn't get the hyperlink to work either)Image and video hosting by TinyPicPicture of a few of the protest signs used by participants of the rally.
