Marshall Plan (1948-52) - Rebuild countries Post-WWII and give them economic support to prevent communism.
Brinkmanship - Pushing a dangerous situation to the brink of disaster without going into war.
Mutual Assured Destruction - Using strong weapons to create an explosion to destroy opposing sides.
Massive Retaliation/Mutual Deterrence - Not using nuclear weapons in fear of being met with nuclear attacks.
North Atlantic Treaty Organization (N.A.T.O. 1949) - Military Alliance formed between 28 nations to enforce North Atlantic Treaty (US, GB, WGermany, France, Italy, Canada...)
Warsaw Pact - Alliance between Soviet Union and Eastern Europe to conflict with NATO. (Dissolved in 1991)
Iron Curtain Speech (1946) - Speech given by Winston Churchill about the "Iron Curtain" draping over Europe, splitting into Free West and Communist East.

Peaceful Coexistence - The idea that even though Capitalism and Communism don't work together, they can peacefully exist in the same environment
De-Stalinization - A government and country-wide reform to remove Stalin's influence in the Soviet Union

Perestroika - Stabilizing the USSR's economic and political systems in the 1980's
Glasnost - Honesty and openness about government workings

Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (1970) - Prevent nuclear weapon technology from spreading all across the world, while allowing nuclear energy for power

Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (1963) - Banned nuclear tests in US, SU, and UK

Strategic Offensive Reductions Treaty (S.O.R.T. - 2003) - Stockpile of nuclear weapons to be cut in half by 2012
New S.T.A.R.T. (2011) - Nuclear missile launchers cut in half & inspection system established until 2021
