Have you ever really noticed that our current (but undeserving) president, Barack Obama, is very similar to one of our more famous deceased presidents of decades past? Of course not, because nobody really cares. However, I actually have spotted some very distinct characteristics that both Barack Obama and John Fitzgerald Kennedy share. Here it goes.President Kennedy took office on January 20, 1961 at the age of 43. He was and is the youngest elected president in the history of our nation. President Obama is quite young too. This year, Obama turned 48 years old, which is not too much older than 43. Kennedy was a youthful, charismatic, individual who used his intellect to get to the top. Of course, coming from a very wealthy family didn’t hurt him any either. He graduated from Harvard school of law with honors. He then moved on to join the U.S. Navy where he became a decorated lieutenant in WWII with awards such as: the Purple Heart, the Navy and Marine Corps medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. Now, Obama grew up with his grandparents after his parents split up and eventually died. He worked hard, ate his veggies, and made a killing in public relations while working for a church based organization in South Chicago. Eventually he began to attend Harvard School of Law, and graduated with honors. Sounds a lot like Kennedy already, huh? Obama worked for about twelve years for different courts and whatnot. He then became elected as the Illinois Senator. That was the beginning of his political career, and the true start to his fortune. Now both John Kennedy and Barack Obama were very popular with the citizens of the country, especially the younger citizens. They were both young, charismatic, good looking, and looked to the future. Both used this popularity and their enormous wealth to win the presidential election. However, Kennedy won by the closest margin of the time since 1916. Obama undeservedly won by a landslide.Kennedy and Obama also had a wife and children. Today, Michelle Obama is basically treated almost like a movie star. Her fashion, habits, walk, talk, and opinion are always of high and criticized talk amongst the press who waste their time on useless stuff like criticizing Michelle for wearing shorts on vacation, when they could be putting time and effort into stories and usefulness of the like that could actually help someone. President Kennedy’s wife, Jacqueline Kennedy was also treated like a superstar. She was a very pretty youthful woman, and was always regard to be at the height of fashion and popularity. Now all of these things are just a few of the many things qualities that both John F. Kennedy and Barack U. Obama share. Without a doubt, they are both influential leaders, will always be remembered. It’s too bad that Kennedy was shot, and there will be utter mayhem in the United States of America if Obama gets shot as well. Oh the uproar that will cause!
