Today was a work day and a day to research our topics. YA!!!!!!!Public Works Administration- Created by the National Industrial Recovery Act on June 16, 1933, the Public Works Administration budgeted several billion dollars to be spent on the construction of public works for providing employment, stabilizing/purchasing power, improving public welfare, and contributing to reboot the American industry. The PWA funded the construction of more than 34,000 projects, including airports, electricity-generating dams, and aircraft carriers; and seventy percent of the new schools and one third of the hospitals built during that time.Indian Reorganization Act- An Act to conserve and develop Indian lands and resources; to extend to Indians the right to form business and other organizations; to establish a credit system for Indians; to grant certain rights of home rule to Indians; to provide for vocational education for Indians; and for other purposes. It’s pretty nice that they started helping the Native Americans with there land and rights. The PWA helped put money into the economy and created jobs so it was a good idea.
