Jane Horneywas actually born with the name Ebba Charlotta Horney in Sweden. Her dad was a civil engineer and her mom was a nurse. As a child she went to an English private school where she began her learning. In 1934 is when she took the name Jane. As her young years developed she traveled to various places. She enjoyed selling her traveling experiences in newspapers as a secretary and a journalist. In 1939 she married a Swedish journalist named Herje Granberg who worked for the newspaper consisting with the name of Aftonbladet. She followed her husbands work to Berlin in 1941. she later divorced her husband in 1943. Jane moved to Denmark after her divorce. She worked for Skandinavisk Telegrambureau of Copenhagen. Then Jane returned to Sweden where the Danish resistance titled her a German Spy. In the autumn of 1944, the Swedish security police arrested her because the resistance ordered it but she was then soon released. The Danish then ordered Bent Faurscho-Hviid to assassinate her. The British Special Operations Executive halted her assassination though. January 18 1945 Jane had gone missing. People believed that she had actually been killed by the Danish Resistance but no one really knows fore sure. No one can actually confirm the real whereabouts on what nation Jane had actually worked for and of coarse Sweden and Germany both denied that she had been working for them.
Rumors have circulated that Jane hadn’t been killed and actually went on to spy for Britain Intelligence for the cold war. They later said she died April 3 2003. this is all speculation. But I sure would like to research more into this topic.
After seeing 007 it made me come to the realization on how secret the spies were and how much information they actually received. If it wasn’t for some spies America would have been put in the dust. It would be crazy to find out who are the spies are today for the battle in the Middle East. If I remember correctly the movie Slumdog Millionaire kinda touched on that subject.
