Monday-

2.-Women’s rights and freedoms

  • 1920- Women were aloud to vote
  • During this time African women improved in life 
  • Girls took a more modern look. Didn't care. Wanted to Party and drank a lot
  • Girls took up a lot more jobs and took over for men who were at war. 
  • Starting to get higher education
  • Margaret was the founder of birth Control 

5.-Economy-Booming economy and stock market, buying on credit, high tariffs

  • Buying on Credit- Buying something and paying back later.
  • Tariff- Tax on imported goods. 
  • 1,100 officers went on strike and most lost their jobs
  • TR helped end the steal strike 

Tuesday-

6.-Red Scare-anti-immigration, Sacco and Vanzetti case-

  • What was it- Americans Fear of communists, socialists and immigrants were going to take over american government
  • Attorney general started raiding places trying to get ring to get rid of Russians out of America
  • Resulted in 5,000 people getting deported. and were treated badly.
  •  At this point we didn't want any immigrants in America
  • immigration act- At this point people from Asia and Europe were not aloud to come into the states
  • Socko and Vanzetti case- Immigrants robbed and killed a shoe factory and was a big deal

7.-Harlem Renaissance-KKK

  • Took place after WW1 
  • People- Writers, Artists, Musicians, photographers, and scholars
  • KKK- Hate Group that hate anyone different then them self. 

Wednesday-

3.-Politics-elections, Normalcy and isolationism, President’s backgrounds and accomplishments, scandals, Republican philosophy

  •  Most of US was Republican 
  • Iowa had 15 votes. Now we have 6
  • T-pot scandle. Lots of oil and owned by the government. Bribed by oil company and they got all the oil.

Thursday-

9.-The Model T and the impact of the automobile

  • Cheaper
  • Cars are one of the most impacting things invented

10.-Electricity in the homes and new appliances

  •  

Friday- 

11.-Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earnhardt and the airplane

  • Became big in WW1
  • Amelia- 16 women to get flying licence.
  • First women to fly crossed Atlantic
  • Charles- First to fly solo crossed Atlantic. 

12.-Scopes-Monkey Trial

  • Trial of creationism and evolution.
  • So Church vs. Science 
  • John Tomas- Tought evolution in school and this broke the butler law

8.-Lots of strikes-Boston Police, US Steel, United Mine Workers

13.-Stock Market Crash-causes
