Jacqueline Kennedy was John F. Kennedy's wife. She served as the United States First Lady during his presidency from 1961 until his assassination in 1963. After Kennedy died, Jacqueline married Aristotle Onassis in 1968 until his death, in 1975. After Onassis died, she began having a sucessful career as a book editor.She was born in Southampton, New York to John Vernou Bouvier III, and his wife, Janet Norton Lee. Jacqueline had a younger sister, Caroline Lee Bouvier, who was born in 1933. As a child, her hobbies were drawing, reading and lacrosse.John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline were united in marriage on September 12, 1953 in Newport, Rhode Island. Approximatly 700 guests attended their ceremony, and 1,200 guests attended the ceremony.
