President Obama signed the health care reform bill on march, 23rd, 2010. This will ost around $938 billion.
The reform will make health care more affordable, but republicans are going against that and they are saying it will be more expensive.
No republicans voted for it at all and about 34 or so democrats voted aginst the bill.
Some of the things that are included with the bill:
- children may depend on their parents' insurance plan until they are 27 years old.
- it will allow FREE preventive care for everyone.
- you can't loose insurance if your sick anymore like how it used to be
- in 2014, Americans mut have health care coverage or they will have to pay
a fine.
- no adults or adult kids can be denied insurance from pre existing conditions.
- if you have a business and you have more than 50 workers working for it, everyone has to be provided
with health care or otherwise thats a $2,000 fine per worker.
- to pass the health care reform bill, it won by seven votes, 219 to 212, so the house of representatives passed it.
- there is about 32 million americans who are gonna recieve it who didnt have insurance before.
All most about 46 million people have no health insurance. One HUGE reason why is because people who own their businesses are not offering there workers insurance anymore because the cost is so high.
Also there will no longer be a lifetime insured deal.
Soon people and employers can go to the health insurance marketplaces and shop for health insurance.
i think the new health care bill is good.
it helps everyone gets access to health insurance and people in poverty, i dont know why the republicans are against it....
