The health care is not a nationwide system of government. The federal Department of Defense operates firld hospitals for military personnels.Veteran Health Administration operates VA hospitals open to veterians that seek nedical care for coditions they didn;t recieve while serving in the military. The Indian Health Serve operates facilities open to Native Americans from tribes. Hopital emergency department and urgent care centers are sources of problem care. Hospice is for people who are terminally ill who are ecpested to live for 6 months or less.Obama's plan is to improve efficiency and lower costs in the health care system by: (1) adopting state-of-the-art healthinformation technology system (2) ensuring that patients receive and providers deliver the best possible care,including prevention and chronic disease management services (3) reforming our market structure to increasecompetition and offering federal reinsurance to employers to help ensure that unexpected illnesses.
