Oliver Kelly Hudson started this group that later became known as the Grange. They wanted to help fight for the farmers and common peoples rights. The Grange's focus switched to the railroads and fighting them. They had to deal with them taking over their farm land and putting them into debt with high prices. I think it was ridiculous that they would charge so much to the farmers, it's smart for the big railroad companies but it's seriously hurting tons of familes.
The Grange grew to about 4 million people. The main groups were in the South and West. There was a lot of African- American people in the South and sometimes people wouldn't mind if they were mixed in with whites which I think is great because then they didn't care what race they were they all wanted to fight for a cause.-Breann Lehr
