Senetor James Inhofe started by talking about how he was going to talk about global warming focus more on climate change. He also stated that he was probably the person who talked about the topic of global warming the most in washinton. He lso went on to explain how it has to do alot with hollywood and the media. Ever since 1985 the media has been talking about climate changes wheather they be ice ages or the warming of the earth.The next paragraph talked about the hokey stick temperature graph and how it stayed pretty much the same over 900 years and then in the 20th century it went up alot because of humans. Then in 2006 the hockey stick went down because some scientist from Canada brought up the Medieval warm period and the little ice age and how these happened before there were even cars on the earth. some people want to erace the medieval warm period from the climate history Next he went on to say how the media is missing the big picture and how they think co2 is the big cause of it but really when a lot of co2 was set off in the air for the first time the temperature acually went down. He said metioned that 60 scientist sent a letter to the prime minister becasue he questioned the baises of global warming.Going on they talked about how there are models being made on the computer about how the wold is at doom but one scientist says that it is science fiction. Inhofe said that he is came to by the media and other people and asked what if you are wrong to not think that global warming is occuring. He said that his answer would have somthing in it like how there have been so many predictions such as overpopulation, starvations exc. and how none of them have come true and how these people are called doomsayers and once a prediction fails another one is made up. He also quoted that the alarmist should be asked the question what if they are right about it.What are they going to do about it really because they have not put out any solution. He added in how on tv they say you should change you light bulbs to the more energy conserving ones to save energy and help the climate, but all this really does is save energy to help the economy. He said many times and made many points on how symbolism does not fix climate crises.It went on to say how they are trying to limit some of the greenhouse gasses in countries that were not so reliable on energy. There was a book written and global warming was at the bottom of the list. He points out we need to concentrate on other things to pull ourselves out of poverty and when the people look back at us they will be dissapointed and wonder why we were so focused on global warming. The next paragraph was about the media and how they have been saying many of the same things for so many years but nothing drastic has happened and after there were examples of things that have been said by the media such as when it was said that they think the wold is freezing up again and that was said over 100 years ago.They said alot about 60 minunets and how the only streached one side of the story. Next they talked about the time magizne and how it was promoting global warming . They talked about the movie that al gore made. Before i read this article i really was believeing that global warming was happenening and that we need to change to make the climate better but after reading this i was amazed at how wrong i was.
That was really good i haven't had the chance to read the full speech because. My it wont let me on the website. But reading yours and a few other peoples helps I've read the first 5 pages at school but thats it. I also use to believe that global warming was true and the we need to find better ways to have energy and that the world is warming up because of co2 emissions. But now i realize that in the mid evil era about the worst thing people could do was burn oil. The temperatures were higher then then they are now and they didn't have cars or trains or planes or anything like that. So thats why i think that global warming is not true. But it wouldn't hurt to find better ways to get energy like the use of solar power and the wind.
