Global Warming

So the gist of this very long article is that human activities are not to blame for Global Warming and it also gave some of the reason why Senator James Inhofe believes that the points that some journalist make about Global Warming are a bunch of baloney.

He talked about how the media cannot make up its mind on whether or not the earth is heading for an ice age or global warming disaster. He quoted some magazines’ conflicting views on global warming and ice ages. I think it’s funny that the same magazine can think that the earth is heading for both an ice age and global warming. Even though the quotes are pretty spread out for time, I still think it’s pretty funny.A point that I really liked was when he was talking about how these alarmist people that are going on and on about how the world is heading for disaster really aren’t doing much about it. I mean you would think that if these people honestly believed that the world is heading for its doom they would be doing everything human possible to try and stop it. I guess not though. He also made some points about why he thought some of the information from Al Gore’s movie An Inconvenient Truth is false. I’ve seen the movie and he referred a lot to this “hockey stick” graph and at the beginning of the article Inhofe talked about why this graph isn’t true. The graph shows that temperatures increased dramatically in the 20th century, supposedly because of human activity, but scientist have brought up the fact that earth went through a period of warmth long before humans could have had an effect, and the temperatures were even warmer than they are now.

Well I’ve always had an interest in global warming so I kind of liked this article. Personally I don’t think humans are completely to blame for global warming, but we are certainly not helping the situation. Also I think that if the media wants people to believe all the garbage they throw out there, they should probably choose one side and stick with it. I already have a hard enough time believing what I read in a magazine with out them changing their mind on me.
