In Paupa, New Guinea, A new rat species was found. It is about the size of a cat, one of the worlds largest rats. It is said that the new rat found, has the same strands of dna as the one found in homes, sewers, and the wilderness across the world. It is unclear how long the species has been around, since the rats werre just discovered last week inside of Mount Busavi, an extinct volcano that has been extinct for quite awhille. The most unheard of thing though, is when the scientists stumbled across the rats, the rats were not afraid of humans. This could be, since they have never as far as humans know, never came in contact, or even sight of humans. The rat is named the Busavi Wolly Rat, for its amazing size and chararistics. This rat though, is not the worlds largest rat, which the Capyberas, which live on the flats of Africa, but look more like pigs. Along the journey, the scientists also found 16 new frog species, 6 new species of bats, and diffrent kinds of insects that have never been discovered. The scientists are concered for this habitat. The reason being is that only 20 miles away from the crater, is ongoing excavation and tree removal. The world may not have found the new animals if the excavation got as far as the crater.
