Germany's new Government Reform

Germany is in a new era of democracy as the government begins to switch from a right-left government into a new center-right based government. Under Germany's Chancellor, Angela Merkel, the government is trying to make a new begining. This new style government ends the "grand coalition" of the previous government and marks a new coalition forming between her party, the Christian Democratic Union party, and the Free Democrats party.

Angela MerkelFrom my understanding, the CDU party(Christian Democratic Union party) is a culturally conservative party while more liberal on economic matters, yet considered to be more on the conservative side. They try to use Christian morals in public behavior. I have nothing against this myself, knowing that Christian morals are not meant to harm one another, but rather to respect one another. The Free Democrats Party is a pro-business liberal party that can be considered to be either way in my opinion. They seem to have more of a conservative standpoint, yet are considered to have charecteristics of soicalististic behavior and socially conservative behavior. I am not really a fan of this party and would definately not be in this party if i was a German.I guess the objective is to have a center-right government in place by the time of the 20th year since the Berlin wall fell in 1989. The coalition will have majority in the government and can pass major legislation. Chancellor Merkel thinks that they can have tax cuts in as early as 2011. I believe that this is a good thing because a major part of being a right government is cutting taxes to promote business and and help the economy and since they are just getting out of a recession and they nedd to get their economy back up and running so that even Germany can be a light of freedom and democracy in a very liberal Europe. After all, we didnt fight WW2 and the Cold War so that Germany would just end up Socialist.
