George Armstrong Custer

Chapter 5 Section 1George Armstrong Custer is known today for The Batte Of Little Big Horn. He was a United States Army Officer and commander in the American Civil War and Indian Wars. In 1858 George attended West Point and graduated at the bottom of his class in 1861. West Point is a United States Military Academy located in West Point, New York. His presence during the Civil War at the First Battle of Bull Run highered his reputation. George also happened to be a very aggressive commander which later helped him become promoted to Major General. After the Civil War, he was sent to fight in the Indian Wars. He was defeated and killed in 1876 during the fight against Native American tribes. George Armstrong Custer participated in fifteen wars/battles during his fifteen years of service. He died in Little Big Horn, Montana an was later buried in West Point Cemetery.
