We started our debate today. I'm on the republican side, and so far I agree with their views. We talked about abortion first, and my view on that is it is just bad. How would you feel if your mom had gotten an abortion? You wouldn't feel anything! You'd be dead! So ka-pow, you democrats.After that was flag burning. After being explained that the flag being burned is new, it's used to protest, and lit on fire, the debate made more sense. Because I think what you're supposed to do with an old flag is give it to a certain group and they burn it "the proper way". I'm against flag burning because that's our nation's symbol of freedom, and that is very disrespectful to burn it.Then came gun control. Law-abiding citizens should be able to have their guns. They protect people. I do see how crime is bad because of guns and all that, but background checks are run and all that. So a lot of the crime has to be done by illegal weapons, or getting them illegally. That's really all we discussed today, and we'll do more on Monday!
