Today we reviewed some more for our map test. The blog for next week will be a free choice current event blog. We went over some facts of 9/11 that will be on our write to learn coming up, including Al Quida, the four planes, Taliban, Osama Binladin, War on Afghanistan, what we helped establish there, and what happened in Afghanistan in the 1980's. In 1979 the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan with poor results for them. It was our Vietnam x100. The Soviet Union was gone about 5 years after they left. The United States helped by sending weapons over to help the Afghan people, which got into the hands to Taliban forces. The ratical Islamic groups want us out of their area. President Bush was sidetracked by the Iraq War. Democrats started saying we had lost our focus, Afghanistan. Ana discussed her blog. Her topic was on Obama's Policies. "The Surge" is something that worked in Iraq during Bush's time as President. Obama now is doing something similar like that in Afghanistan. He is reshifting the focus from Iraq to Afghanistan.We need to make sure we understand the differences between Obama's policies and Bush's polices. We also planned out our skits we were suppost to do last week... or before. We moved our blogs up to the top of our pages, too.
