We don't have any assigned blogs this week. Mondays assigned blog will be free choice. Today in class we reviewed the map once again for our test over the states and capitols this Thursday and Friday. Then we reviewed what we have talked about so far about Afghanistan, 9-11, our war on Afghanistan, The Taliban, al-Queida, and their democratic form of government. In the 1979 the Soviet Union invaded and it didn't go well, and lead to it's downfall. In the 1980's we helped the Afghanistan people by giving them weapons and it got into the hands of eventual Talibans. The goal of the people over there is to get us out because we've been there ever since, they will keep attacking us and being terrorists until we are gone. In about 2003 we invaded Iraq and everybody seemed to be for it exept the Democrats who wanted us to keep our focus on Afghanistan. Wich lead us up to Obama being elected. Obama said he was going to get the troops out of there but instead he added more. He has been focusing more on our country than others. A couple years ago Bush started 'The Surge' wich is when we sent more troops to Iraq and looked over it. We're trying to now do the same thing in Afghanistan but some peoople wont say it will work too well since Afghanistan has such great mountains that the Talibon and al-Quiedans in the mountains. On Tuesday we will do our presentations and we worked on them for the rest of class.
