Mr. Bruns was absent today. We had a substitute teacher and everybody got in their groups to either work on their assigned blog, or work on their group projects. My group was for the Democrats. Here are the topics that I was assigned to reasearch: US role in the world--Iraq, environmental laws, and affirmative action laws.
US role in Iraq: The Democrats are agianst the fact that Obama is planning to draw nearly two-thirds of the US military force into Iraq. Not all of them have to be in the country at the same time, and all 50,000 troups that Obama is planning to have in Iraq have to be out by December 31, 2010. This is way too large of a number of troups to get out in a short amount of time. You can't call yourself out of a war, and leave fifty thousand troups in the country at the same time. If the grounds of Iraq should deteriorate, the Presedent does hopefully plan to withdraw the troops. http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/02/27/iraq.dems/index.html
