Civil Works Administration- Created November 8, 1933. this organization was disbanded because it spent too much money.
Farmers- the RFC aided the farmers. Many farming organizations got loans by the rfc. the loans were giving out so farmers could get back on their feet and hopefully be able to pay the loans back.
Factory workers/labor-NLRA established minimum wage and maximum work hours. It was established to see if workers were being treated fairly.
Young people- the NYA focused on the youth. It gave young men and women jobs in school so they could learn and make money at the same time so they wouldn't drop out to make money for their family. Some of the people didn’t like this organization because it used their tax dollars.
Banks/ business- the RFC was a bailout system to help us get back on our feet. FSA, was the first major federal legislation to regulate the sale of securities. Required investors to receive information and prohibited fraud in the sales in securities. FSA still exists today.
Home owners- the USHA gave jobs to low income people to build homes. It led to the PWA. Over 22,000 places to live were built. Half of these houses were built for black people. Essentially led to ghettos.
Elderly- SSA- took out taxes from your income that you would receive when you retire. Taxes started in October 14 1936.
Native Americans- this helped native Americans who lived in poor slums. IRA gave much land that we took from them and gave it back.
