After WWI Britain didn't lose anything. The actually gained some colonies.

Winston Churchill--1940 to 1945 and 1951 to 1955 was a prime minister. An officer in british army, writer, historian, and artist. He got so powerful from the people of Britain Even after the war he was still pretty popular in the public eye.
