1.) Describe the causes and effects of the French and Indian war

The French and The Indians were on one side and Britian and the colonist were on another side. Main conflict was the colorado river. It was war over colonies, land, and power. The British ended up winning even though the French were very strong in the beggining of the war. The Native Americans kept plugging away and captured eight more forts. Britian had gave blankets to the Indians that had contianed small pox, and many Native Americans died because of it. The Proclamation Line of 1763- colonists could not go past the Appliations- NA land. It was ignored. Then because Great Britain was in debt from the war they taxed the colonist.

2.)Describe the accomplishments of the presidents

George Washington only president to ever have a unanamous vote- he set a precedent for everyone else. Helped put together the first cabinent, supreme court, people looked at him of bieng a great leader

Thomas Jefferson- became the third president- anti-hamiltion -Listened to Hamilton more than him-purchased the lousianna purchase

Andrew Jackson- 7th president- out to help the common person- help strengthen the federal government- the national bank- forced the cherokee-trali of tears.

3.)Describe the causes and effects of the war of 1812

Military conflict between Canada and U.S.- James Madison thought that great britian was trying to prevent us from trading- telling native americans to attack us-impressment- Great Britian was stopping our ships and taking men off them. America actually won the war and gained respect from the British. An agreement to stop fighting, but is looked at as of a moral victory for America. The Star Spangled Banner was written during this war. The Treaty of Ghent ended the war. Also during this war Britain burned down Washington DC.

4.) Describe the causes and effects of the Mexican/American war.

Mexico thought that the boarder line was at the Nueces River in Texas, but America thought it was the Rio Grande. Mexico ended up cutting off contact with America for a while. The leader of Mexico decided on having the Rio Grande be the boader line and to sign the contract. When an American went to Mexico to talk it over and agree he was just sent right back. President Polk sent troops to the Rio Grande river and Mexico thought they were being invaded. In responce they sent troops and America thought they were being invaded, so it looked like we were being invaded first. America ended up wining. About half of the land Mexico owned became ours-got national respect-2nd war of independence- this war really didn't need to happen if there was better communication.

P.S. Sorry Mr. Bruns this was the earliest I could get this blog in because my computer froze on Friday and we

had a church retreat after school that didn't allow any technology.
