causes-in 1820s when mexicans opens there borders to texas they had to give up american citizenship and leave behind slaves but most texans didnt listen

-we moved troops to the rio grande so mexico thought we were invading their territory..mexico attacks us
-effects-texas border was settled to the rio grande. we got california, new mexico, texas, utah, nevada, and part of arizona(SW part of US)
